App functionality
- Remove ads: To honour your purchase and hide ads when you have bought “Remove ads”
- Word lists and settings: Your selected categories and custom lists are stored locally on your device
- Performance: So the app runs correctly and we can fix issues
Third-party advertising
- Ad delivery: To show ads in the app via Google AdMob
- Ad targeting and measurement: To show relevant ads and measure ad performance (when you have given consent, where required)
- Non-personalized ads: If you decline tracking or consent, we may still show non-personalized ads
Consent Management
Apple App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
- We may ask for permission to track your activity across apps and websites for advertising purposes.
- You can allow or deny this in the system prompt; you can also change it later in your device settings.
- We use Google’s UMP SDK to manage consent for advertising (e.g. in the EEA).
- You can update your choices at any time via the “Privacy options” (or similar) entry in the app settings.
Your choices
- In the app: Use “Request tracking & consent” and “Privacy options” in Settings to manage tracking and ad consent.
- Device settings: On iOS, you can limit ad tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Contact: You can contact us (see below) to ask about your data or withdraw consent.
Third-Party Partners
Google AdMob
- Purpose: To display ads in the app
- Data involved: Device identifiers, advertising data, product interaction data, consent status
- Uses: Ad delivery, targeting (where consented), and measurement
- Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Consent: We use Google’s UMP for consent where required (e.g. EEA)
We do not sell your personal information. AdMob may use data for personalized advertising and cross-app measurement when you have given consent.
Data Tracking and Cross-App Tracking
We and our advertising partners may use tracking technologies to:
- Link data from our app with data from other apps and websites (only where you have consented)
- Deliver and measure advertising
- Improve our services
You can limit or refuse tracking via the in-app consent options and your device settings (e.g. ATT on iOS).
Your Rights and Choices
Opt-out and control
- Ad tracking: Limit or refuse via the app’s consent options and device settings (e.g. “Allow apps to request to track” on iOS).
- Ad personalization: Manage via “Privacy options” in the app and/or Google’s ad settings.
- Remove ads: Purchase “Remove ads” in the app to stop seeing ads.
Data access and deletion
- Local data: Word list choices and “Remove ads” status are stored on your device; uninstalling the app removes them.
- Advertising data: Governed by Google’s policies; you can manage preferences in the app and via Google’s ad settings.
- Requests: You can contact us (see below) to ask about your data or request deletion where applicable.
Rights in the EEA / UK / Switzerland (GDPR)
If you are in these regions, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your data
- Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
- Object: Object to certain processing
- Withdraw consent: Withdraw consent at any time
- Restrict processing: Request restriction of processing in certain cases
How we handle these requests
Contact us: Email rasmusbapp@gmail.com and say which right you want to use (e.g. “Access my data”, “Delete my data”, “Object to processing”). You can use the subject line “GDPR request” or “Privacy request” so we can respond quickly.
What we can do:
- Data we hold: Impostr. does not run its own servers with user accounts. We do not store your word lists, settings, or purchase status on our systems—those exist only on your device. So we have no separate “copy” of that data to send or delete ourselves.
- Data on your device: To “delete” or “restrict” that data, you can clear app data or uninstall the app. We can send you short step‑by‑step instructions for your device if you ask.
- Advertising data: Data used for ads (e.g. device/advertising IDs, interaction with ads) is processed by Google AdMob. We do not keep our own copy of that data. For access, deletion, or other rights over that data, you can:
- Use the app: Settings → Privacy options (and, where relevant, your device’s ad/tracking settings).
- Use Google’s tools: Google’s privacy policy and ad settings explain how to manage and request things from Google.
- We can explain what we pass to AdMob and how to reach Google for requests, but we cannot fulfill access/erasure for AdMob’s data ourselves.
Our process: We will reply to your email within one month (or within any longer period we tell you, if the request is complex). We may ask you to confirm your identity (e.g. that you control the email or device you use with the app) so we do not disclose or change data for the wrong person. We will explain what data we process, what we can do (e.g. instructions for deleting data on your device, or pointing you to Google), and, if we cannot do what you ask, why and what you can do instead (e.g. use Google’s forms).
Withdrawing consent: You do not need to email us to withdraw consent. You can do that in the app (Settings → Request tracking & consent / Privacy options) and in your device’s privacy/tracking settings.
Complaints: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country (e.g. in the UK, the ICO; in the EEA, your national data protection authority).
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information:
- Limited data: We only collect and use what is needed for the app and ads.
- Third-party security: We rely on established partners (e.g. Google) that use industry-standard security.
- Local storage: Purchase status and preferences are stored on your device using standard mechanisms (e.g. secure storage).
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
- On your device: Word list selections and “Remove ads” status are kept until you change them or uninstall the app.
- Advertising data: Retained according to Google AdMob’s privacy policy and your consent choices.
- Other data: We do not retain separate servers of your personal data beyond what the app and AdMob need to operate.
Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the app.
International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required by law, we (and our partners) use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions, for such transfers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy (e.g. in the app or on this page) and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
